Tokenized assets need operational software, not just a smart contract
Real-world assets only work in production if the operations around them work — issuance, servicing, exceptions, and the systems of record they still have to talk to.
The contract is not the product
A token can represent an asset. It cannot service it. Issuance, investor ops, corporate actions, exceptions, and reporting still live in software — and most of that software has to talk to the world that already exists.
Operations is the hard part
The failure mode is rarely the chain. It is a missed exception, a stale record, a reconciliation that still needs a person, or a workflow that cannot explain itself to a regulator. That is product and systems work.
Intelligence on top of the record
Agents and automation are useful here when they are grounded in the actual record: who owns what, what is allowed, what already happened. RAG over policy and servicing data is more valuable than a chatbot that talks about the asset.
